| Review: I decided to venture away from my usual brand of trail shoes (Asics) and try something different. I've been wearing the Salomon XA Pro for a few weeks now. I've logged miles on both trail and pavement in these shoes and am impressed how versatile the shoe is. They performed very good on the trail, but more surprisingly, they performed well on the pavement. Usually my trail shoes feel kind of awkward on pavement, but not these. One of my favorite aspects about the shoe is that the sole is not incredibly thick like most trail shoes I've used. I always feel like I'm more prone to twist an ankle or something the higher my ankle and feet are above the ground. With the XA Pro I feel a lower center of gravity, and more stable. It also lets me really "feel" the trail becuase the sole is not as thick, but still provides all the necassary comfort. I also thought the laces (or lack of) would be wierd, but they weren't. Lastly, I like to go camping, hiking, trail running etc. and would have to bring multiple shoes with me to get my running and hiking in. I can see myself in the future relying on the Salomon XA Pro as a utility shoe that I can do pretty much anything with. | ||
